In college I was what people call "a cardio junkie." I didn't go to gym and ride the elliptical for hours (ladies, don't do that) but I did just run run run 🏃🏽♀️ I based my exercise solely on how much I ran.
I would do some abs if I was lucky and if I was REALLYYYY feeling good I would maybe do 10 sets of bicep curls 😂
Ladies - we need to get over the idea that we need to do so much CARDIO. Yeah I was running a lot but I had NO muscle tone, no definition in my body, and I was eating a ton.
Adding strength into my routine CHANGED the game for me. My metabolism is faster, my body is more defined and FEELS better.
And Pilates/yoga?! There's NO WAYY I would have done that because "that's not high enough intensity and doesn't even count as a workout" 💃🏼 haha I was WRONG.
Yeah it's not high intensity, but it's incredible strength, balance, & flexibility that our bodies desperately need.
If you aren't seeing the results you want, if you're hitting a plateau, or if you just want to FEEL better, I encourage you to try something new to switch it up.
I now do it all - cardio, HIIT, Pilates, yoga, weight lifting, etc. switch it up and you don't get bored either!
