The Sahara is the largest hot desert in the world and the third largest desert after Antarctica and the Arctic. Its' area is comparable to the area of the United States. (According to wiki)
It took us 2 days of driving to the desert, making an exuberant number of stops for tea and meals and unreal sights of the land we live on. Driving with the windows down, closing my eyes to feel the cool air cleanse my hair of dust particles, sitting and just each others company, slowed down my life and made me appreciate the silence once more. Our destination was Merzouga, the nearest local tourist city to the dunes where organized overnight trips several km into the dunes, enough to bring the sight of an unoccupied Earth.
