Dear #InstaFuriends: As some of you know or may recall, I (Misty) suffered an ankle injury back in August. As I have been on Short Term Disability from my 2nd job at UPS since - I have also been enduring this injury for months.. almost 8 to be exact. It has totally debilitated alot of activities for me.. anything to just excessive walking. So next Thurs March 30th I will be having Reconstructive ankle surgery, with RetroGrade Drilling and Ligament repair, also to remove and fix bone that was initially broke in my Taylor Dome area and never properly healed. Below is a small description of what a part of my surgery will be. This is a more complicated and painful surgery, but I should have 96% of normality back after all is over. So.. if we do not post as often... this will be why. My recovery is 6-8 weeks non weight bearing and another 2-3 months of rehabilitation to rebuild muscle and get back to a simple walk! I have ALOT to get ready by next Thursday, so I wanted to go ahead and let everyone know... if we are not posting .. we will still be liking and commenting during my recovery 😙 I'm super nervous.. but also ready for some relief from this ankle! We will keep you posted as we can😉 Much Love - Misty & Cole
📰◾📰◾📰◾📰◾📰Reconstructive ankle surgery with RetroGrade Drilling seeks to relieve the pain and discomfort caused by injury, congenital abnormalities, infection, and arthritis. It also aims to restore or improve function and stability. Reconstructive surgical procedures are complex and can involve repairing or transferring tendons, implanting joints, removing tumors, and cutting, grafting, or fusing bone. During reconstruction, internal and external fixation devices—including pins, screws, staples, and wires—as well as casts may be used for repair and stabilization.
